Sail Away Ladies Here are a couple of breaks for the popular fiddle tune Sail Away Ladies, first cousin of Sally Ann. The approach here is to create some variations - in our band the banjo player states the melody and I have to come in with something a bit different. I seem to have got into a double stop mode on this one, with some syncopation and one or two steel guitar type licks. If you want to get a feel for the different ways a tune can be played, go to the CoMando site, where you will find a couple of other tabs of Sail Away Ladies. I also did another arrangement for UK North West Bluegrass News some years ago in the TabRite format. You should be able to find the tab and accompanying article by following the links at NWBN. Play at medium speed. e.g. half note = 120 |
